News | Spartans to host trials for young talent

Blyth Spartans AFC will be hosting open trials on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Croft Park, Plessey Road, Blyth NE24 3JE.

The trials are open to any players that are currently in Years 11 to 13 who are interested in finding out more about our educational pathway with partners Tyne Met College – which will see us field a team in the National League Youth Alliance for season 2019-20.

The partnership will allow learners aged 16 and over to combine their academic studies, in either A Levels or vocational qualifications – across subject areas ranging from Sport, to Engineering, Construction and Computing – with the opportunity to represent Blyth Spartans U19s on a Wednesday afternoon.

The team will compete with other established programmes from across the North of England including South Shields FC, Harrogate Town FC and Scarborough Athletic FC.

First team manager Lee Clark will be in attendance on the evening to oversee the practical session, as well as discussing the clubs vision for the youth pathway.

Tutors from Tyne Met College will also be on hand to discuss course options and answer any queries regarding the academic element of the pathway.

Players interested will require practical kit, appropriate footwear and a drinks bottle.

To register your attendance and find out more please contact general manager Anthony Seghini on generalmanager@blythspartans.com .
