Following a small number of incidents accessing and exiting seats in Port of Blyth Stand, The Club has decided to finance the installation of support posts to assist supporters when using the stairs.
Although currently not a regulatory requirement, The Club is keen to improve the safety of its supporters.
Some other clubs have had versions of these successfully fitted. It is also important that they do not restrict access or obstruct viewing, to this end, we have had a test post fitted for the past two games and has not caused any problems.
The top tier of the Stand has now been fitted with a row of support posts, one side of each set of stairs, the lower tear paddock area will be fitted with posts over the next 2-3 weeks.
