Blyth Spartans AFC is delighted to announce Jamie Clark has signed his first contract with the club following the young forward’s breakthrough into the first-team.
The 19-year-old graduated from our under-19s programme – in association with Tyne Metropolitan College – late last year.
Clark was handed his National League North debut at Kettering Town in November before starting games against Boston United, Brackley Town and Gateshead.
“I’m thrilled to have been offered a contract at Blyth Spartans,” Clark said.
“This time last year I was preparing to play in the under-19s, now I have the opportunity to impress in the first team.
“I really enjoyed breaking through last season. My thanks and appreciation goes to Michael Nelson for trusting and believing in me.
“I’d also like to thank the tutors and coaches at Tyne Met for helping me in my development over the last few years.”
Michael Nelson, manager of Blyth Spartans, said: “Jamie came into the team at a difficult time last season and stood up to the challenge in front of him.
“He has some real positive aspects to his game but is still young and raw.
“He will need coaching and developing over time but we believe in him.”
