TEAM NEWS
The curtain comes down on what has been a very successful for the Spartans – as they celebrate winning the Evo-Stik Premier League with the trophy presentation on Saturday. This weekend’s visitors are Grantham Town, who themselves have had a successful season by reaching the final of the Integro Doodson League Cup and finishing just outside of the playoff spots.

On Easter Monday, Blyth recorded a thoroughly convincing victory over Whitby Town – as Blyth made amends for their defeat against the same opponents on Boxing Day. A brace from Luke Armstrong and efforts from Dan Maguire, David McTiernan and Matty Pattison wrapped up a comfortable 5-1 win.

The Gingerbreads, meanwhile, suffered an emphatic defeat at the hands of the Steelmen from Corby – as the hosts took a giant stride towards safety. Prior to that defeat, Grantham had registered six wins on the spin in all competitions.

Should the Spartans win, they will finish the season on 101 points – as well as having already scored over 100 goals for the season.

RECENT FORM

IN THE AWAY DUGOUT
Adam Stevens – Joined the club in November 2014 alongside Wayne Hallcro, but has been in sole charge since January. Guided the Gingerbreads to 12th place last season, but has bettered that this time round.

Lee Shaw – made the step up from local football, after being the leading goal scorer for Harrowby United last season. His form has continued this season – as he leads the scoring charts for Grantham, having scored 27 goals in 47 games so far this season.
