TEAM NEWS

Blyth Spartans will look to secure a place in the 2nd round of the Buildbase FA Trophy on Tuesday evening as they play host to AFC Telford United. It will be the second meeting of the sides following the 3-2 victory for Spartans back in September.

Spartans were last in action in the Techflow Group Northumberland Senior Cup as they dispatched Bedlington Terriers by a 4-0 scoreline. Jordan Laidler opened the scoring before a brace from Greg Rutherford and another effort from Robbie Dale sealed the win.

AFC Telford United have had even longer to wait to play a game as their last fixture fell on Saturday 25th November. A 4-2 victory was recorded over Droylsden in the previous round of the FA Trophy. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake grabbed a brace in the first half before John Marsden and Marcus Dinanga grabbed a goal in the second half.

It is worth noting that the game must be concluded on Tuesday evening with extra time and penalties if required. The winners will play host to Bromley.
