Lee Clark has heaped praise on the Blyth Spartans fans, in what he described as an “absolutely unbelievable” away end at Kettering.
Supporters travelled in their numbers to Latimer Park on Saturday, backing their team to the hilt as they shared the spoils against the Poppies in a 4-4 draw.
However, it wasn’t just the support in the Midlands that the former Newcastle United midfielder alluded to.
Clark thanked fans for their support throughout the campaign so far during another squad rebuild and a difficult opening couple of months.
He said: “Myself and Paul want to say thank you to the supporters. I thought the support was absolutely unbelievable yesterday and it has been from the first day.
“The support that we have had from the terraces has allowed Paul and I to quickly assess the issues that we had at the start of the season – rebuild a squad to give them one that is worthy of their support.
“It’s because of their patience and support that we’ve been allowed to do that. I thank them for that.
“Obviously we’ve already been on record to thank those who helped us tie down Callum Roberts to a permanent contract, which everyone can see is massive for us.
“Of course, we know there is a couple of positions to strengthen in the group. We’re not looking at players just to come in and enhance the squad, we’re looking at players to make the starting 11 better.
“We believe with his group of players and with a little bit more help, we can be a match for any team in the division.
