Blyth Spartans can announce that the Croft Park’s General Manager, Ian Evans, has announced his retirement.
Ian – who is also the Football Secretary and club Treasurer – has been with the Spartans for 16 years and he said: “I’m not getting any younger and, actually, I’ll be will be 65 this December!
“I’m looking forward to spending more time with my family and going on holiday; something I’ve missed out on over the years.
“The three months leading up to my birthday will give us chance to appoint a successor. With that in mind, a general overview of the post will be made public soon and the process regarding applying will be advertised.
“I intend to carry on as a member of the Executive Board at the club, at least until next summer, and I’m looking forward to helping Blyth’s new boss Alun Armstrong settle in.”
