Preparations for the 2015/16 season click up a gear tomorrow morning as the draws for the early rounds of the FA Trophy and the FA Cup are made.
Blyth Spartans will enter the FA Trophy at the First Qualifying Round stage, where they were handed a trip to Farsley last season.
Goals from Damen Mullen and Nathan Buddle put Tom Wade’s side into the Second Qualifying Round with a comfortable 2-0 win in Yorkshire but they were knocked out in the following round by Halesowen Town.
A 1-1 draw at Croft Park saw a depleted Spartans side beaten 2-0 by the Yeltz in the replay.
The first three rounds of the FA Cup will be drawn and it is in the First Qualifying Round, the third of the three drawn, where Spartans make their bow in a competition that helped them make national headlines last season.
A run to the Third Round proper included wins over the likes of Darlington, Leek Town Altrincham and Hartlepool United, before their brave exit at the hands of SkyBet Championship side Birmingham City.
The draws for both competitions are expected to be made around lunchtime and we will reveal who Tom Wade’s side will face as soon as possible.
