There was another full house in the sponsors room for Saturday’s home game against a rapidly improving FC United of Manchester team. After an early morning inspection found some surface water on the pitch ground staff and helpers manager to clear the pitch and a local referee confirm that the derby game against Spennymoor can go ahead. With may other local matches cancelled there is hope for a bumper crowd on what is looking like a sunny if cold afternoon.

Staff were at Croft Park early this morning to check the pitch after a rise in temperature overnight. They found the pitch to be in good condition. Groundsman Peter Henderson was marking the pitch and a few minor issues relating to frozen plumbing were resolved. The temperature is set to rise to about 10 C this afternoon and stay mild all evening so we look forward to a good crowd…
