Blyth Spartans have today secured month-long loan signings of midfielder Kieran Green and defender Danny Burns from National League outfit Gateshead.
20-year-old Kieran Green arrives at Croft Park following his summer move to Gateshead from Hartlepool United – where he spent his youth career, turning professional in 2014 and making his first team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy against Sheffield United later that year.
He is a central midfielder who has also spent time on loan at both Spennymoor Town and Frickley Athletic in the 7th tier of English football.
Manager Alun Armstrong has also brought in centre-back Danny Burns, who has a wealth of experience at Blyth Spartans’ level, having two separate loan spells at Lowestoft Town in 2015/16 whilst being on the books at Cambridge United.
The Yorkshireman joined Buxton in 2016 before being plucked by Gateshead for an undisclosed fee last season.
Both players go straight into contention for Spartans’ match day squad for their away trip to Southport this Saturday.
