TEAM NEWS
A 100% record was taken from the month of January, in a month which saw us take points from Nantwich Town and Salford City, two teams in and around the title run-in. We welcome February with what could be one of the toughest tests of the remaining campaign as we visit Workington, the current team who are closest to Spartans in the standings. It has been a great month also for the Cumbrians with them collecting four wins on the bounce, without conceding in any.

Saturday saw player of the month for December Sean Reid return to match action, coming off the bench for 20 minutes.Last season saw Blyth take a point in a 1-1 draw at Borough Park, the goal coming from Michael Richardson. Looking at the table and fixtures coming up in February, a point could be seen as a good result from Spartans but that doesn’t mean three are not the main aim. Victory could see Blyth move 11 points clear, unless Salford City pick up points against bottom side Ramsbottom United.

OPPOSITION MANAGER
Derek Townsley – Took charge of the club for the start of the season, has currently got the team 2nd in the league standings.

DANGER MAN
Gareth Arnison – Four goals in the last three games, a dangerous centre forward
