Update | Medical incident at Darlington

Blyth Spartans are pleased to announce that the fan who collapsed at Saturday’s match against Darlington is recovering well at home.

The game was halted in the second-half of the match at Blackwell Meadows due to a medical emergency in the crowd.

Dan Rolls from the Green Army Supporters Club said, “We’d like to thank Gary Neasham (Spartans physio) and his Darlington counterpart who were quick on the scene, as well as Liam Kennedy, Tony Young and Colin Blackett who were superb. As were the Darlington staff and local police.

We’d also like to extend our thanks to Nathan Buddle and JJ O’Donnell who immediately signalled to the referee to stop the game.”

The Club itself would also like to place on record our thanks to all those involved in ensuring the safety of the fan concerned.
