Spartans midfielder Jack Stanger will miss the visit of FC United of Manchester on Saturday as he travels to Telford for a trial with the England Colleges Under 19 squad. The eighteen year old was successful in progressing through the first two stages of trials which were a North East Regional trial and then a Northern England trial. He will now take his place amongst the final thirty three players, from which the twenty three players will be selected for the final squad.
The versatile midfielder was the first signing by then caretaker management team Paddy Atkinson and Tom Wade when he agreed to join Spartans from Northern League outfit Consett and has made five substitute appearances for the club so far.
Should Jack be successful he will play games against national College sides from Wales, Scotland, Ireland and New Zealand in 2013. He will also travel to Rome to represent England in a tournament following those fixtures.
Everyone at Blyth Spartans wishes Jack the very best of luck for his trial.
