Blyth Spartans can announce that extensive repairs are being carried out on the Croft Park pitch to ensure the best possible playing surface for Steve Cuggy’s new look Spartans as they embark on their new Blue Square Bet North campaign.
Over 35 tonnes of topsoil has been deposited on the pitch, which has also been seeded, rotivated and treated.
The work has also seen the goalmouths at either end re-turfed and a team of professional contractors (employed by Northumberland County Council) has been working to ensure that the pitch is ready for the Partick Thistle game, with the current ‘changeable’ weather also assisting.
