Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of French forward Yanis Galas, subject to club obtaining International Clearance from the FA.
The 25-year-old was playing in the French league system last season with Chauny and has been capped by Guadeloupe at various youth age categories.
Manager Steve Cuggy commented “We’ve had Yanis at the last couple of training sessions and he looks a more than decent player. I got a tip off about his availability from a contact of mine and thought I’d invite him down to have a look at him, as we have nothing to lose.”
“He doesn’t speak a great deal of English, but he has impressed me and Gav since he arrived, so it’ll be really interesting to see how he does in the friendlies and then into the league programme.”
“We obviously have to be wary that he is new to English football and to the non-league scene, so it might take him a while to settle, but the signs so far have been promising”
