To complete their hattrick of signings for tonight Blyth Spartans are happy to announce the signing of up and coming 9 year old defender Matthew Giloney, who was the winner of the Supporters Club ‘Squad Place Raffle’ for the 2009/2010 season.
A club spokesman said “originally it looked like we were getting a more experienced campaigner into the squad, but a last minute problem with his medical, meant that we have had to examine alternatives elsewhere and young Matthew perfectly fitted the bill as we aim to bring youth into the club.”
Matthew’s favourite player, Chris McCabe was on hand to welcome the defender to the club.
