Spartans Resurrect Snapchat and Periscope Accounts Ahead of Emirates FA Cup Tie

BSAFC Badge on the BuildingDon’t worry if you’re unable to make it to Croft Park for Blyth’s Emirates FA Cup clash with Morpeth Town on Saturday – as Spartans have taken the decision to resurrect the club’s Snapchat and Periscope accounts ahead of the game.

Fans from around the globe can follow all of tomorrow’s action from inside the ground on Snapchat. Simply add blythspartans1 on the photo-sharing app, where fans can follow the events of the day through the Stories section.

Meanwhile, Periscope users can see all of the pre-match build-up by searching for blythspartansafc on the platform’s dedicated app.

The two accounts – as well as the Spartans’ instagram account – have been able to be brought back into action thanks to the media team acquiring some new members in recent weeks and Blyth Spartans’ press officer Glen Maxwell thinks the new additions will only help to improve the quality of content the club currently produces.

Glen said: “It’s great that we’re able to bring both Snapchat and Periscope back into play – ahead of such an important game, not only for the club but for the area as well.

“Sam Donovan will be taking care of both accounts for tomorrow’s game and – after speaking with him earlier this week about the accounts and his plans for Instagram as well – it sounds like he has a lot of great ideas about how to get the best out of them all and help add to the quality of our media output this season.

“The plan is that we can keep these accounts going forward for the rest of the season, but we need people to get on board with them. Hopefully, the fans will interact with both accounts on Saturday, get behind Sam’s work on both Snapchat and Periscope and continue with their fantastic feedback on the work that we do for the club – as we really do appreciate it.”

Both Snapchat and Periscope are available on Apple’s App Store and on Google Play for Android users, with both being completely free to download.
