ALAN WHITE – MARCH 2011
The month of March saw the Spartans start poorly without a win in their first three games, but saw them finish the month strongly as they picked up four wins, including the incredible 6-2 win over Vauxhall Motors and progression to the final of the Northumberland Senior Cup courtesy a 2-0 win over Newcastle Benfield.
Integral to this resurgance has been the form of Port of Blyth POTM Alan White. In the absence of the injured Wayne Buchanan, he has formed a formidable partnership with Chris Swailes at the back and his form has been such that Buchanan has been unable to gain a first team spot at his favoured centre half position since his return to full fitness.
