The month of December saw the Spartans play only one game, but what a cracker it was!
A 2-0 win over Fleetwood Town in the FA Trophy produced 11 heroic performances for Blyth and in fairness any of the lads who took to the field that night could have been nominated for this month’s prize. That said the Man of the Match on the night was awarded to Wayne Buchanan and it is he who wins this month’s award.
The likeable Northern Irish defender has been with the club since the summer and has formed a strong cohesive unit with defensive partner Chris Swailes, producing dominant displays throughout the club’s recent good run.
