Young midfielder James Marwood has followed new manager Adam Sadler to Team Northumbria in the Northern League. All in all, James featured 4 times for the Spartans (including twice appearing from the bench). We would like to thank James for his time at the club and wish him all the best in his future career.

Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of former Newcastle United striker Guy Bates from Drogheda United. Bates, 24, is a tall, powerful striker who has played in Australia (Newcastle Jets), Belgium (K.V. Oostende and R.A.A. PAUL BRAYSON – JANUARY 2010 In a month that has seen the best and worst of the Spartans, one positive constant has been the form of striker Paul Brayson. In the 5 games played in the month, Brassy managed an impressive 6 goals and his form has been such that he is now closing in on the leading scorer list for the Blue Square North. Well done Paul.
