Ndjoli joins on a short-term loan from Hartlepool

Blyth Spartans are delighted to announce the signing of Mikael Ndjoli on a short-term loan deal from Hartlepool United.

The 24-year-old forward joined Pools in July 2022 following a short stint in the USA with Virginia Beach where he bagged four goals in five games.

He began his career as a youth player at Tottenham and Watford as well as Brentford where he impressed in their under-18s side scoring 20 goals in 24 appearances during the 2015/16 season.

In July 2016, Ndjoli joined Premier League side Bournemouth for whom he signed his first professional contract and developed in their under-23s squad; he also featured as an unused substitute in an FA Cup fourth-round tie against Wigan in January 2018 but did not make a competitive bow for The Cherries.

Before leaving Dean Court permanently, Ndjoli had loan spells with Kilmarnock, Gillingham and Motherwell. He has since turned out for Barrow, Aldershot and Virginia Beach before signing a two-year deal with Pools.

Ndjoli linked up with Radcliffe in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division towards the back end of the previous campaign for whom he featured six times and scored once. He has made a total of 11 competitive appearances for Hartlepool and scored a brace in a 2-0 EFL Trophy group stage win against Harrogate Town.

Speaking on the arrival of Ndjoli, Graham Fenton said:

“With the injury situation we have at the top end of the pitch, it was best to bring in someone in that position as soon as possible after Saturday.

“When we found out that he was available we jumped at the chance to bring him in.

“Mikael has had some really good spells in his career; when I spoke to him it was evident that he felt like he has a point to prove and all around it’s a really good fit.

“We have him for an initial one-month loan and then we’ll assess alongside Hartlepool and see where we are.”

He has been granted league and FA clearance to be in contention to make his debut this evening away to Darlington.

Welcome to Blyth Spartans, Mikael!
