TEAM NEWS

On Saturday, Blyth kick off their festive campaign in an eagerly awaited trip to York City as both sides look to keep their play-off hopes alive.

On Tuesday evening, Blyth saw off the challenge of AFC Telford United in the 1st round of the Buildbase FA Trophy. A penalty from Dale Hopson on 9 minutes following a foul on Dan Maguire was enough to seal passage through to the 2nd round a home tie against Bromley.

York City meanwhile, winners of the FA Trophy last season crashed out of this season’s competition following a 2-1 loss to Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough. James Pearson and Emmanuel Sonupe had fired the hosts in a halftime lead and despite a late goal from Amari Morgan-Smith, the Minstermen were unable to conjure up an equaliser.
