TEAM NEWS
Spartans’ remaining cup fixture see’s us travel to Northern League Division 2 side Heaton Stannington in the semi final of the Northumberland Senior Cup. Being the current holders of the trophy after last seasons heroics at St James’ Park saw Blyth come out 2-0 winners over Morpeth Town. A win tonight would book another final spot, with either North Shields or Morpeth Town. If a draw is the outcome after 90 minutes, it will go into added time. Should the tie still be tied, a replay will be required at Croft Park at a later date.

With Ryan Hutchinson ruled out for the foreseeable future, Nathan Buddle’s stand in centre half started off being Dillin Morse on Saturday with Danny Parker sat on the bench. Either of the 3 could play tonight, with a big fixture against Matlock Town coming up on Saturday at Croft Park. Tom Wade may decide to give games to Andrew Cartwright and Dan Maguire, two players who have not seem much game time in 2016 due to injuries. Matthew Wade is expected to return on the weekend so Damon Mullen is expected to continue to play in central midfield, after coming back from his own set back with injury.
