TEAM NEWS
An opportunity to celebrate what has been a great season for Blyth Spartans; a Cup final at St James’ Park against local rivals North Shields.

The Northumberland Senior Cup, of which we are currently holders, returns to cap off a season which saw Spartans break many records and set targets to beat for the following years. After last season’s 2-0 win over Morpeth Town, this is a chance to retain the cup which we missed out on for 21 years after wins over Newcastle United’s U21’s and Heaton Stannington. North Shields await us, an excellent team which has former Blyth player Graham Fenton at the helm.

Tuesday night saw Damen Mullen go off injured, he will be assessed for the game. Arran Wearmouth was missing for the playoff semi final against Workington, and could well miss out at St James’ Park.

Robbie Dale picked up the supporters Player of the Season award, after the most votes via the fans. He also picked up the top scorer award, finishing the season on 23 league goals; he will be hoping to top off his season by lifting the Northumberland Senior Cup on Wednesday night.
