TEAM NEWS
Blyth Spartans welcome former Football League side York City to Croft Park on Tuesday evening, in their first home game of the new Vanarama National League North season.

Spartans suffered defeat on the opening day of the season – as they left Alfreton Town empty-handed, with goals from Luke Shiels and Andre Johnson condemning them to a 2-0 defeat. Meanwhile, York City tasted defeat at home to AFC Telford United thanks to Matthew Barnes-Homer grabbing the winning goal.

There have only been two previous meetings between the clubs, with both coming in the FA Cup in the 1978/79 season. The first meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, with York winning the replay 5-3 at Croft Park after extra time.

Given their opening day blanks, both sides will be desperate to pick up their first points of the season.
