Blyth Spartans play host to Leamington on Saturday looking to bounce back following a disappointing defeat to Bradford Park Avenue last weekend.

The Spartans were well beaten by Park Avenue in Yorkshire last Saturday. Wayne Brooksby opened the scoring after 4 minutes, the lead was doubled just before halftime as Oli Johnston scored. Jamie Spencer and Adam Boyes put the hosts 4-0 up before Robbie Dale grabbed a consolation from a free kick.

Leamington meanwhile tasted defeat for the first time in eight games. Boston United took all three points against the Brakes as Brad McGowan and Ashley Hemmings gave United a 2-0 victory,

This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides.

Paul Holleran – Appointed manager in November 2009, Holleran guided the Brakes to Play Off glory in May as they won in extra time over Hitchin Town. Previously he has managed Solihull Borough, Halesowen Town and Rushall Olympic.

 

DANGER MAN

Ahmed Obeng – The striker is into his second season with the club after impressing the fans with his 11 goals last season. Earlier in his career, Obeng played for Rushall Olympic scoring 56 goals in 180 appearances before Kidderminster Harriers gave him the opportunity to step into full time football.
