Keeper Sponsorship Seems ‘Sensible’

Blyth Spartans can announce that the equipment of goalkeepers Matty Hunter and Tom Kindley, as well as new goalkeeping coach Carl King, will be sponsored this year by Azeem Ahmad of Sensible Society.

Sensible Society is a company which ‘offers sensible people silly discounts’ via their website and the sponsorship deal will see cost of the lads gloves and other specialised goalkeeping equipment covered for the upcoming season.

Carl King commented “It’s great that the lads will have their equipment costs covered for the season, their preferred gloves, KA Goalkeeping, are amongst the best available and also quite expensive, so it is good that they won’t have to worry about the cost of getting the best equipment and having to make any compromises in what they feel comfortable with. I have spoken to the manufacturer and have managed to get the lads an excellent deal on the things that they need and want.”

“Both Tom and Matty have done really well since we started back and have fitted in really well with the rest of the squad. It is just a shame that Tom’s work commitments prevented him from featuring in the pre-season games so far, but that is sorted now so everyone will get the chance to watch him in action.

“Matty has been impressive in the games and in training so far and he looks really composed. Without wanting to put too much pressure on him, this is pretty much what we expected, as we were impressed with what we knew about him, as well as the ‘scouting reports’ that had been provided on him from people that we know and trust.”

“Both of them have worked really hard so far and it is great for Blyth Spartans that they have two such talented, young ‘keepers on the books. It has been a pleasure to work with the two of them so far and I can’t wait for the season to get started.”
