MAN OF THE MATCH

David Knight

The principal reason for Blyth being in the hat for the first round proper and getting a draw against a very good Droylsden side was the sparkling form of goalkeeper David Knight.

It was good to see some committed displays throughout the Spartans team (with Buchanan, Mason and ‘debut boy’ Mole all impressing) but the last line of defence was called upon several times and each time was up for the task.
