Current Supporters’ Club Player of the Season Daniel Maguire is the latest player to re-sign for Blyth Spartans.
The 20-year-old – who was also voted Player’s Player of the Season 2012/13 – made the step up from the Northern Alliance and grabbed his opportunity at Croft Park when called upon – netting seven goals in the process.
Maguire was down to the ground on Thursday night – along with new signings Robert Nolan, Dean Holmes, Matthew Wade and the returning Robert Dale – to put pen to paper and agree terms with manager Tom Wade for next season.
Wade said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to keep a hold of him for another season.
“Danny’s thrown the gauntlet down to a lot of young lads. He’s shown that if you’re fit, keen, have the ability and you’re prepared to put a lot of effort in, you can do well at our level; no matter what age you are.
“So it’s a good benchmark for the (new) players to look up to.”
