The game marked the end of the 2008/2009 campaign and saw about 200 Spartans head over to the North West to cheer the lads on. Goal Prediction Competition 2008-2009

This year three supporters correctly predicted that the Spartans would score 74 goals in all competitions up to and including the last game of the season. Following the game against Southport, a draw was made in the social club by Blyth Spartans supporter Tony Young and witnessed by fellow supporter Ian Burt. Blyth Spartans 2 Stafford Rangers 1

The Spartans moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Stafford Rangers. Blyth trailed at half time 1-0, but Gary Brown equalised with a 35 yard rocket, then an own goal by Stuart Pierpoint give the Spartans another much needed win. Match report and reaction will follow soon.
