TEAM NEWS
It’s yet another cup game for Blyth as the FA Trophy comes to town when the Spartans face league opposition Halesowen Town. With Blyth recording a 2-0 win over Farsley AFC in the previous round, it’s another opportunity for the Green Army to attempt to build up another cup run to emulate the FA Cup. With the Doodson Sports Cup game now in the past, Tom Wade and co will be looking to get back to winning ways at Croft Park.
The Frickey match midweek saw nine changes to the FA Cup starting 11 from Sunday against Altrincham. The likes of Peter Jefferies, Nathan Buddle, Stephen Turnbull, Dan Maguire and Robbie Dale are expected to return to the squad after having a week’s rest from match action. Halesowen also went out of the Doodson Sports Cup midweek with a 3-0 defeat away to the hands of Newcastle Town. They previous knocked out Matlock Town in a replay with the victors now facing Spartans.
