MAN OF THE MATCH

Graeme Armstrong

All that was missing from this imperious display from Blyth’s captain was a goal. He was a constant threat to the Harrogate rearguard, causing them problems all afternoon. His exceptional work rate and desire to get on the end of through balls led to him being brought down on two occasions en route to goal. On another day Harrogate could have been reduced to nine men for these fouls.

He played a part in Blyth’s second goal when his shot was parried by Harrogate’s goalkeeper Mark Cook and tapped in by Dan Groves. Armstrong was then instrumental in Blyth’s third goal when he raced clear of Richard Pell to pull the ball back for Dave Coulson to finish with five minutes remaining.
