On what was ultimately a bad day for the Spartans, given the result, the star performer goes to Rob Dale – who, as he has done for pretty much 7 seasons, provided the Croft Park crowd with sublime moments of skill and enjoyment.
The attacker was at the heart of all of the good things that the Spartans did, with his trademark jinking runs, but his good work ultimately proved fruitless, as the Spartans recorded their first blank in front of goal for 13 games, as well as halting their recent unbeaten stretch of 5 matches.
