The campaign to bring the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ to England is underway. The Bid Book is submitted in May 2010, after which FIFA will assess the bids, before making a decision in December 2010 and Blyth Spartans are backing the campaign to bring the World Cup to England!
The club could also benefit from a successful campaign as Croft Park, the home of the Spartans, was mentioned (albeit only in the local press) as a possible training venue for one of the competing nations should Newcastle win their bid to be one of the host cities!
