After an early morning pitch inspection by a local referee, today’s match against AFC Telford has been called OFF due to a waterlogged pitch. Watch this space for details of the re-arranged fixture.

There was another full house in the sponsors room for Saturday’s home game against a rapidly improving FC United of Manchester team. Along with the sponsors attending the game were two Spartan heros celebrating the fourtieth anniversary of the famous 1977-78 Fifth Round FA Cup run. Spennymoor match ON

After an early morning inspection found some surface water on the pitch ground staff and helpers manager to clear the pitch and a local referee confirm that the derby game against Spennymoor can go ahead. With may other local matches cancelled there is hope for a bumper crowd on what is looking like a sunny if cold afternoon.

FA Trophy Tie against AFC Telford ON

Staff were at Croft Park early this morning to check the pitch after a rise in temperature overnight. They found the pitch to be in good condition. Groundsman Peter Henderson was marking the pitch and a  few  minor issues relating to frozen plumbing were resolved. The temperature is set to rise to about 10 C this afternoon and stay mild all evening so we look forward to a good crowd…

Today’s FA Trophy match against AFC Telford has been called OFF because of a frozen pitch. An early inspection revealed that lower than expected overnight low temperatures had re-frozen the pitch. The fixture will now be played on Tuesday 19th December with a 7,45pm Kick-Off.
