Blyth Spartans boss Tom Wade has decided to step down as manager of Blyth Spartans AFC. In his place, the club has appointed former professional footballer Alun Armstrong. The former striker featured for Newcastle United, Stockport County, Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town among others during his playing career. Gateshead game and reaction

Blyth lost 3-0 to Gateshead in Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Croft Park.
