Arrival | Jack Bodenham signs on one-month loan

By Niall Bromley

Blyth Spartans are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Bodenham from South Shields on a one-month loan deal.

The 22 year old central defender joins Blyth after making 46 appearances for South Shields in all competitions last season and he links back up with manager Graham Fenton who brought him in from Cardiff last summer.

Jack has captained his boyhood club Cardiff City at several age groups, including the U23s, and has been capped by Wales at junior level.

Despite being only 22, Jack has a lot of experience having had load spells at Welsh club The New saints and Fellow National League North outfit Hereford, and he can’t wait to get started at Blyth.

The left-sided defender said “I’m very pleased to get the deal over the line, I’ve worked with Graham previously and really enjoyed working with him and I felt I learnt a lot from him as well so long may it continue at Blyth.”

I’m looking forward to meeting the Blyth fans at the first home game, and hopefully we can get off to a positive start.”

Manager Graham Fenton added “I’m really happy to bring Jack in for a month’s loan, it gives us an opportunity to cover Toby who’s going to be out for a few weeks, so it’s fallen nicely into our hands and we are delighted to have him at the football club. It’s always easier when you already know a player, he knows how I work and I know about his qualities as a player, so hopefully this will be a successful loan spell.”
