Blyth Spartans are extremely saddened to report the tragic news that one of our former players, Anth Lowther, passed away today.
A hugely popular player with his fellow teammates, as well as the supporters at Croft Park, Anth arrived at Croft Park from Tow Law as one of Harry Dunn’s first signings and was part of the team that swept to the Unibond title in 2005-2006.
A regular visitor to Croft Park after he left the club in our first season in the Conference North, he joined supporters in celebrating the FA Cup win over AFC Bournemouth, commenting that even after leaving the club he always considered himself a ‘Spartan’.
